Why Should A Person Consider Doing An Apprenticeship

Have you ever considered taking an apprenticeship? If you are a young person fresh out of school weighing your options for the future, or an older person looking for a change, an apprenticeship might be right for you. Apprenticeships provide many benefits and may help you forge a career in your chosen field.

Making Money While Studying

One of the most important differences between an apprenticeship and continuing your education is that you will be paid while learning more about your new career path.

All apprentices in the United Kingdom are entitled to the minimum Apprenticeship pay. However, you are unlikely to receive a full wage as an apprentice; earning money while honing your craft is a great way to stay motivated at work.

After your apprenticeship is completed, many businesses offer full-time employment to dedicated apprentices, so you may be able to earn even more money.

Work In The Real World

Nothing beats working to develop your skills, which is why an apprenticeship is ideal.

Apprentices work in a company to learn the ins and outs of the industry. While you’re there, skilled staff members will be in charge of your growth, and you’ll polish your skills over time, gradually growing in your work.

Never underestimate the value of working in a real-world environment – it is one of the best ways to get valuable skills for your future job.

Stay Away from University Debt

With maintenance loans, takeaway, pot noodles, and other things to consider, attending university means accumulating debt.

While you only have to pay it back when you earn a certain amount each month, it is still a significant part of your monthly income and will most likely be for the rest of your life.

In contrast, an apprentice goes straight to work. There are no bills to pay or obligations to be worried about.

A Diverse Offering of Apprenticeship Opportunities

Apprenticeships are available in almost every profession. So there is probably definitely an apprenticeship for you, whether you want to be a civil engineer or work in business administration, or if you want to work in a stableyard caring for horses or a florist!

They all include on-the-job training and skill development, so you’ll improve in your chosen career over time!

Every Stage You’ll Be Supported

You will not be left to your own devices when you begin your new apprenticeship; your employer will work with you at all times to ensure your growth during your time with them. The business is looking for a competent, talented employee who can work for them for a long period of time – and you, as their apprentice, are that person!

There is No Maximum Age

Contrary to common perception, apprenticeships are not just for school leavers!

You may apply for an apprenticeship even if you don’t have a degree. So, if you’re an older person looking to change professions, an apprenticeship might be right for you!
