Gas Network Craftsperson

Gas Network Craftsperson

On a gas network craftsperson apprenticeship course, you’ll help build, maintain and repair parts for the country’s gas network.

Because of the dangerous nature of natural gas, the country’s gas network must be operated, managed, and maintained safely to prevent significant supply losses or disruptions.

A gas network craftsperson must respond to and manage emergencies while working for one of the organisations authorised to transport gas across the UK.

Depending on the activity, you may be dispatched to the location in pairs or alone as part of a larger team.

Because you’ll be engaging with the public, agencies, and emergency services on safety concerns and giving technical advice to other stakeholders, you’ll need excellent communication skills.

This apprenticeship will prepare you for a career in electrical and instrumentation, pressure management, pipelines, and emergency response.

What you’ll learn

On a gas network craftsperson apprenticeship course, you’ll learn to:

  • Conduct and record risk assessments in line with business policies and procedures.
