The Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship is suitable for those who are only starting with their professions, such as school leavers and those who have practical experience but wish to progress more in their professional direction.
What are the entry requirements?
Individual companies will decide the selection criteria for apprentices, although most may need ‘A’ grades or equivalent relevant level 3 certificates. Prior experience should also be considered. Potential apprentices should also have English and Mathematics qualifications at stage 2 or higher and ICT skills at this standard. Under this requirement, apprentices must complete these before completing the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship.
How long does it take to complete?
The Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship can take up to four years to complete. However, it can be completed in less time, depending on the individual’s prior experience and the employer’s requirements. Experienced managers should be able to complete the job in only two years. Several universities/higher education companies recommend a “fast track” model to accommodate experienced administrators.
How is it assessed?
An independent committee must conduct an end-of-course examination for all Trailblazer apprenticeships. Apprentices must undergo the end-of-course test to receive their apprenticeship certificate.
The end-point assessment for the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship involves an overview of the apprentice’s paperwork portfolio, which is collected whilst on programme:
- Submission of a work-based project report
- Introduction of a work-based project and question/answer session
- A competency-based interview
Before moving on to the end-point examination, the apprentice must have fulfilled the degree component of their apprenticeship and passed the test.
How will the quality of this apprenticeship be ensured?
The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) ensures that apprenticeship degrees are of high quality. The assessor’s accuracy is the responsibility of the end-point measurement body, which ensures that a satisfactory standard is met and maintained.
Apprenticeship standards are overseen by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE). The fate frequently advises on funding caps and approves apprenticeship requirements and assessment programmes.
Is the CMDA recognised?
Apprentices who complete all facets of the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship are qualified for a full certificate. They will receive this in addition to their degree diploma.
