About us
Seddon has grown from a small family run business to the UK’s largest privately owned and family managed contracting business, employing over 650 people.
But we’ve never lost sight of what really matters. To us, building relationships is as important as building buildings.
The reason for our continued success can be summed up in one simple word: TRUST. Our customers know that when we make a promise, we keep it. That’s what sets Seddon apart. It’s what our business was founded on and it remains the cornerstone of everything we do today.

Reviews
Growning in the Midlands
Still a Family owned company. Always looking to improve the work place .
Fast paced environment
Extremely busy environment, tight deadlines. Training facilities are good, I have been trained in First Aid/ Fire Marshall and Management courses.
Friendly staff, however staff turnover is currently high due to the current market.
Pros
Good Training schemes
Cons
Location
Awful workplace
Tried my hardest in my role. ‘Out-worked’ all members of my department regularly which earned me no reward or incentive. Worked unsupervised from day one – terrible management.
Directors hold personal grudges against employees and take no interest in work they carry out.
2 weeks before leaving I was turned down a pay rise and role name change (removing trainee from title). I was told that it was a trainee role and as a result the answer was “NO”. No progression plan was put in place.
Since leaving ‘my job role’ is no longer a trainee post and has been advertised as a substancial position. How ironic.
If you are looking for a job with poor salary and a work environment that will lead to you suffering from severe depression, apply to work at Seddon.
Pros
None
Cons
Poor management, No progression, “Clicky” co-workers
Enjoyable experience while working here
I was a business administration apprentice based on site and i thoroughly enjoyed the 2 years I spent with Seddon. I developed so much both on a professional and personal level. My colleagues boosted my confidence no end and taught me the skills of the role from scratch as I had no previous experience at all. Even with being the only female I was treated equally and fairly at all times and felt that my opinions were genuinely appreciated and considered. My days were always structured and I learnt something new every single day. I was apprehensive to work on a construction site but having now done it I am glad for the opportunity.
The hardest part of my job was having to always adapt to working with new people and different environments and office facilities quite quickly. However, I did enjoy always meeting new people and being able to grow good working relationships with colleagues and gaining friends for life.
i couldn’t of chose a better company to work and this has now given me clear objectives of what I want from my career.
Pros
good work ethic, respectful colleagues, enjoyable atmosphere
can be a bad place or can be a good place
Really good if you are on the right team. Management keeps on changing every year. Director keeps on changing every 3-4 year.
You are forever changing and proving yourself with new managers.
The flexi working was amazing.
Pros
flexi working
Cons
regular change in mangements
