Installation Electrician and Maintenance Electrician

On an installation electrician and maintenance electrician apprenticeship course, you’ll help install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial and domestic environments.

An installation electrician and maintenance electrician installs, maintains and repairs electrical equipment and systems in industrial, commercial, and residential contexts. This includes anything from switchboards to renewable energy technologies.

As an apprentice, you may also contribute to the design of electrical systems. You will plan projects from the development of drawings and specifications to the purchase of installation materials.

During this apprenticeship, you will specialise in one of two occupations: installation (installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining low voltage (less than 1000v) electrical and electronic equipment and appliances) or maintenance (maintenance of electrical and electronic installations). In this role, you will be in charge of the equipment’s monitoring, maintenance, and repairs.
