How To Get An Automotive Apprenticeship

There are many ways to get an automotive apprenticeship, including direct contact with potential employers. However, you may search for current apprenticeship opportunities on your own via the National Apprenticeship Service.

Most employers would require you to have a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A* to C/9 to 4, including English and Maths. Some individuals may also pursue an ICT qualification.

Companies look for candidates who can demonstrate additional skills and personal qualities in addition to qualifications since competition for apprenticeships may be fierce. Recruiters will be searching for people that are excited about the prospect of working with them, have a passion for the industry, and stand out from the crowd. Throughout the recruitment process, the following key behaviours will be assessed:

  • A desire to learn
  • Ambition and motivation
  • Team problem-solving abilities
  • Personal responsibility

The apprenticeship recruitment and selection process is designed to be as simple, fair, and beneficial as feasible. It will ensure you have every opportunity to impress, ask difficult questions, and allow recruiters to understand your abilities and suitability for the position.
