How To Get An Apprenticeship At 16

Apprenticeships are school-leaving programmes for young people aged 16 and above who want to pursue a career. These programmes combine on-the-job training with classroom learning. Apprentices get intensive on-the-job training and work toward nationally recognised certifications.

Modern apprenticeships provide a different route for school leavers to join the labour market or continue their studies. While most 16-year-olds move on to sixth form/college and university after finishing their GCSEs, A-levels and a degree are not required for all vocations. Two types of apprenticeships are available for 16-year-olds: intermediate and advanced.

We list all apprenticeship opportunities in the UK on our website, so have a look.
