How To Apply For Police Apprenticeship

You do not need a degree to participate. For example, a Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) programme enables you to earn and learn on the job while obtaining a degree in Professional Policing Practice at the end of the programme. Many forces now use this method to recruit officers; you may apply via your chosen force.

Some forces continue to accept applicants via the traditional entry process, including the Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP) and a two-year probation period.

Alternatively, if you want to get a degree before you start, several schools offer a pre-joining degree. For example, if you’re going to be a police officer, search for a university that offers a Professional Policing Degree. Then, as your studies end, you may apply to one or more forces.
