How Is Apprenticeship Different From Volunteer

Other rules may apply when a company offers training or experience to a person as an intern, apprentice, trainee, or volunteer. For example, employers may use these colloquial terms to describe a working relationship. These statements, on the other hand, are legally binding and bestow certain rights on workers.

Apprentices

Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and taught by a professional. The government must approve registered apprenticeships. They are often paid but not less than the minimum apprenticeship wage.

Volunteers

Volunteer gives their time and skills freely without expecting to be paid. Volunteers may be paid to cover their expenses. However, if they are paid for their work, they are classified as employees rather than volunteers.
