You’ll help research, analyse, model, assess, and manage cyber security risks on a cyber security technical professional apprenticeship course.
A cyber security technical professional works in various sectors, including national infrastructure such as energy, transportation, water, and financial services.
You will typically have a significant degree of autonomy in this role and lead teams that investigate, analyse, model, assess, and manage cyber security risks.
You will also design, construct, rationalise, manage, and operate secure systems and detect and respond to issues.
This apprenticeship may lead to a job as a cyber risk manager, cyber risk analyst, cyber research analyst, cyber incident manager, cyber security engineer, or cyber security design engineer. In addition, you will get a bachelor’s degree in cyber security upon completing this course.
What you’ll learn
On a cyber security technical professional apprenticeship course, you’ll learn to:
- Deliver concise, engaging, and well-structured verbal presentations, arguments, and explanations.
- As shown by excellent negotiation skills, deal with various competing interests inside and outside the organisation.
- Recognise other people’s preferences, motivations, abilities, and limitations and utilising this information to collaborate and motivate others more effectively.
- Effectively work with others to achieve a common goal.
- Listen and lead, influence and persuade people.
Entry requirements
You’ll usually need:
- 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) and A levels, or equivalent, for a degree apprenticeship.
- Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this before taking the end-point assessment.
Assessment methods
The End Point Assessment comprises two distinct assessment methods:
- Practical Test
- Technical Discussion
