Commercial Thermal Insulation Operative

Commercial Thermal Insulation Operative

On a commercial thermal insulation operative apprenticeship course, you’ll help apply insulation materials and pre-formed cladding for the prevention of heat loss, heat gain, energy efficiency and personnel protection.

Installing and applying appropriate thermal insulation materials and recognising specific surface types, and changing temperature and site conditions are all part of the work of a commercial thermal insulation operator.

As an apprentice, you will learn how to install prefabricated cladding or weatherproofing materials in line with project requirements and site instructions.

In a remodelling context, additional preparation tasks such as the removal of old materials, cleaning, and preparing surfaces may be needed.

Depending on your industry, you may work in several settings, such as industrial plants or commercial construction projects.

Working outside may also be required, so be prepared to carry out your tasks in various weather conditions.
