At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.
As the world’s leading cancer research charity, we are at the forefront of the global fight against cancer, bringing together millions of people who share our determination to beat it.
We are beating cancer every day. But we need to go much further and much faster. And research offers hope – with new ideas, tools, and technologies to unravel cancer’s complexity that were unimaginable just a few years ago.
Beating cancer means beating it for everyone. Our vision is to create a charity where everyone can feel like they belong, benefits from and participates in, the work we do.
We must also become a truly sustainable organisation environmentally, financially and operationally if we are to achieve our mission.
Together we will beat cancer.
Not Worth It
I applied for a job here as a 19 year old with no experience and got it straight away. I was trained (barely) over one 6 hour shift and then set to work.
I had to spend A LOT more than my contracted hours here and it was not worth it. Staff also binned so many sellable clothes!
Even a bad day does good
Love working for CRUK. It’s a challenging role but the other store managers and higher management are always just a phone call away with encouragement and solutions. The company as a whole keeps you updated with developments and aims and you really do feel part of the team fighting cancer.
Pay not on same scale as standard retail
A very good place to work
I have learned a lot of new skills since I have started volunteering and I have no experience in retail but the members of staff and public are very helpful in my training
very fun to work there met many cool people and taught me a lot about team work skills and collaboration in the workplace. i recommend very very highly
Comfortable place to work
Remote role, management are good, fairly friendly place to work, good work life balance. Some opportunity for progression but role can be repetitive and very busy.
