Fast paced

B&Q is a fast paced place to work, the shifts go by relatively quickly and there is always something to do, I work on vans and picking orders for customers, it is fairly straightforward

Not a nice place to work

The management are bullies . I have never worked in such a toxic place , you work hard and they expect more ,so sort staffed everyone is leaving and the ones that are leaved are so stressed . And if you go higher in management thay don’t care .

Pros

Wages

Cons

Every thing

Great People, but frustrating culture.

Rated 4 out of 5

The people there are really lovely, I enjoyed my team so much. The thing that really got me to move on was the culture. I hadn’t worked in retail prior to this job and there’s a real lack of respect for processes. This then creates problems for other teams who have to fix something because the process wasn’t followed….but the market managers don’t care because their not following process increased sales….

Look elsewhere

Can be a toxic environment. Management stick together so even if you are right you are always wrong. Treat you like robots.

Such a high turnover of staff from all departments that puts pressure on the ones that stay to the point of high sicknesses with stress or eventually they look for other employment or quit.

Health & safety gone mad to the point you can no longer do you’re job and heavily encourage all employees to report on others anything they deemed to be unsafe.
